MFR
Myofascial Release

Overworked muscles often become tight and develop knots or “trigger points”. Chronic tightness produces inflammation and swelling that ultimately leads to the formation of “adhesions” between tissues. Your provider will apply pressure with their hands, or with specialized tools, in order to release muscle tightness and soft-tissue adhesions. This will help to improve your circulation, relieve pain and restore flexibility.

Chiropractic Management of Myofascial Trigger Points and Myofascial Pain Syndrome: A Systematic Review of the Literature
Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, Toronto, Ontario, Canada School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, Pa

A study conducted on chiropractic care performed simultaneously at the University of Pittsburgh and Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College found strong evidence that the combination of spine/joint manipulation with the addition of trigger point therapy (Cupping/IASTM/MFR/Dry Needling) was an excellent combination for treating pain trigger points (knots) in muscles and around joints. The reduction of the knots and improvement of joint function was effective in assisting to reduce pain caused by the issue.

Myofascial Release (MFR) is highly effective in treating a number of common and chronic conditions.  By addressing root causes of pain and movement pattern dysfunction more profound and long lasting effects can be achieved.
